This is 3-week essay writing course structured around key writing techniques such as planning and structuring an essay, developing critical analysis skills, selecting academic sources, and evaluating evidence. The course is practice oriented, and interactive, where students will be given weekly homework, and asked to participate in different academic writing and reading activities.
Who will benefit from this course?
The course is suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students who need to improve their writing and research skills, or those who are about to begin their university degree. Students of all academic writing backgrounds are welcome, regardless of their field of study and degree.
Week 1: Basics of Academic Writing, Essay Introductions, Essay Structure and Planning
Week 2: Essay Structure and Planning; Critical Analysis and Interpretation of Evidence
Each of the weekly sessions will be live streamed and will conclude with a brief, 15-minute Questions and Answers session.
BONUS: Throughout the duration of the course students will have the opportunity to send one individual coursework (up to 2000 words) for a general review and feedback (usually £40 but included in your course fee). Terms apply

Students will be provided with a copy of handouts with learning materials for each of the weekly sessions.

It is recommended that students who register attend all three sessions. Sessions cannot be rescheduled/rebooked. No recordings or replays can be provided.
